Medical Center Pharmacy

At Medical Center Pharmacy, we offer a full range of products and services to meet all of your pharmaceutical needs. Our pharmacy staff is always available to answer your questions and assist you in any way possible. We have seven pharmacists on staff to ensure that a pharmacist is on duty during all business hours. Having an adequate staff also allows us to offer much shorter wait times than the chains, usually averaging 15-20 minutes or less. We maintain an extensive stock of medications, including ophthalmic and otic preparations, respiratory medications, insulin and diabetic supplies, and many hard to find items the chains don’t have. In the event that we do not have an item, we will be glad to special order it for you. In most cases we can get the item for you by 10:00 am the next business day. We feel that our extensive inventory and our ability to special order almost any medication for the next business day provides our patients with superior service.

At Medical Center Pharmacy, we have always looked to innovation and technology for better ways to serve our patients. We were the first drugstore in the area to offer a drive-thru window. (Now we have two) We were also the first store in the area to computerize. Today our computer system allows our pharmacists to maintain your prescription records, to screen for allergies and drug interactions, and to generate patient information leaflets and medical expense summaries. One of our most recent improvements was the addition of a ScriptPro robotic dispensing system, one of the first installed in North Carolina. ScriptPro packages prescriptions filled for the 200 most commonly prescribed drugs, utilizing robotics and bar code technology to ensure speed and accuracy, freeing up our pharmacy staff to perform other tasks, thus reducing patient wait times. We have also recently added a VoiceTech interactive voice response system (IVR) for ordering refills. This allows our patients to order refills 24 hours a day, seven days a week and allows our pharmacy staff to spend less time on the phone and more time helping patients.

Medical Center Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am until 6:00pm, and Saturdays from 9:00am until 1:00pm. A registered pharmacist is always available during business hours, and emergency service is available after hours. We accept most prescription insurance plans, NC Medicaid, NC HealthChoice, and workers’ compensation plans. Please present your insurance card to inquire about a specific plan.

Medical Center Pharmacy prides itself in offering products and services that the big chain stores do not. We offer delivery services, Monday thru Friday, within the Rockingham city limits.

We offer compounding service available where we custom make medications according to your doctor’s specifications. We prepare specially packaged prescriptions for assisted living facilities and group homes. We can even improve the flavor of most liquid medications, making it easier to get your child to take his/her medicine.
